We had a great time celebrating with you all Thursday, April 11th at the Chattanooga Library. Thank you Lee Hope for presenting “Make a Book Come to Life” and Erica DeBin on “Transforming Programs from Great to Phenomenal: Through Music and Movement."

student involvement

These are the pictures from Monday nights Student Involvement event at the Creative Discovery Museum. There was a panel of three educators who have been in early childhood education for varying amounts of time to answer questions and to encourage the students.

Afterwards, the students were given dinner and the opportunity to explore the museum and answer questions relating to early childhood.

Ryan Brown from the Health Department came to speak to the directors about the importance of sanitizing surfaces and washing hands correctly. He reminded everyone to sanitize the lesser thought about areas, such as door knobs, handles, chairs, and pens. If you are using a 1 to 10 concentration of bleach, it is important to wipe it off after 30-60 seconds because it can leave a residue.

Sara Neumann from the Tennessee Aquarium came to inform us of a new project that is starting up. The goal is to build a community asset that is available to all early childhood professionals in our area. To accomplish this goal, we need to better understand the current needs of early childhood professionals within the community. We are developing a survey that will provide feedback about experiences of early childhood professionals. Sara asked that if you are interested in taking the survey that you leave her your email address.
